Sunsets Compilation #3

Recently I was thinking  “What did I think of sunsets BEFORE I was AZWC?”  I am certain I noticed sunsets, how could I not?  I guess they hold more meaning for me now.  I also happen to work in a location high up on a hill in Deer Valley, the sunset views are phenomenal and I am known to drop everything I’m doing and run out of the house to take pictures.  My employers used to think something was wrong when they would see me running around, but they don’t anymore. They love having a weather chick working for them.  I get asked numerous times a day about the temperature, whether or not a jacket is needed for the evening, if the weekend will be good, or how I feel about storms being named.  Hell, if The Weather Channel stopped naming winter storms, we wouldn’t have anything to make fun of, meow would we? (yes I said “Meow”)  I have to be going meow, TA TA for meow!

SNOW in AZ 011

This sunset was on February 10th.  I gave my charge, Mikie, my old camera.  She now joins me in documenting the sunsets!

Good Timing….Payson, Arizona

February 10, 2013 by AZWC | 0 comments

My best friend needed to time a trip to Payson, I am always game for a road trip so I agreed.  What luck that it coincided with a winter storm (Orka)!  We left at 7am, UGH way too early, but the early bird gets the worm.  Highway 87 (Beeline) is one of my favorite drives in all of Arizona.  We caught the 87 at Fountain Hills and headed North.  We seemed to be the only people on the road yesterday, which is always nice.  I wasn’t driving, so it was all about taking pictures and enjoying myself, however, it is very hard for me to not want to pull over every five minutes to take photos.  I did the best I could out a passenger side window.

Guess the ducks were hungry, because as soon as we got out of the truck, they came swimming over like a convoy of Naval ships.

Journigan House is owned by Jimmy, a very cool and colorful dude from Mississippi.  He is very funny, stopped to chat a number of times, he is definitely the life of the party!  Thank you for the shot and laughs Jimmy!  Thank you to Jessica, our bartender.  She was very nice, and informative about beer selections and food.  The menu was an appetizing array of seafood and steaks, and well as the usual favorites, such as sandwiches, burgers etc.  We will be coming back!!  Dont let my photos fool you, this restaurant is very big, has a downstairs as well as an upstairs, and an awesome patio!!
